EVENT DAY INFO
Limited parking is available at the centre and we respectfully request you don’t park over our neighbour’s driveways. A drop off and pick up point is available in the main centre carpark at SO16 7AY.
Due to the recent weather we are relocating the ‘prebooked’ parking from the cricket pitch to the depot at the top of the Alpine Centre. Racers who have pre-booked parking will need to give their name to the parking attendant and this can be accessed off Vermont Road (SO16 7LT).
The event village is located within the athletics track and will open at 8.00 am. Remember you need to have cleared registration 30 minutes prior to your wave. At registration, you will be issued with your timing chip and race wrist band.
A bag drop is available for £2 at the race village. If you have a pre-booked bag drop you will need to show your ID to be issued with your tags. Showers are available so don’t forget to bring a change of clothes.
Event waves are released every 15-30 minutes – with over 600 warriors taking part we have tweaked the times to ensure you get the best experience around the course. Some people have moved forward or backwards by 15 minutes so please note the following changes:
Those racers taking part in competitive waves (09:00 – 10:45) are required to attempt every obstacle and stick to the course route. Any racer who fails complete the monkey bars, flying monkeys or the ninja wall will need to complete a penalty run. We ask all warriors to respect our marshals; anybody found to be cheating or behaving in a dishonourable fashion will be disqualified.
For some this a race, you will be timed and for those warriors setting the quickest time will be the goal. However, for many the goal will be to complete the course at their own pace with their team mates and all we ask is if you aren’t bothered about time, give way to those who are.
Don’t forget to bring some money – we have a selection of refreshments available and you can buy some cool Warrior gear including MYZONE belts and merchandise. We will ensure you are well watered around the course, with a few snacks available at the finish line, as well as a medal!
Timing results are available from the timing tent in the event village.
We will have official photographers and videographers so remember to smile, tell us how you are feeling and even stop to say hello.
AFTER THE EVENT
Photos and timing results will be shared via Facebook and our website so make sure you have liked our Facebook page @activewarrioruk. Timing results will be available via the live link during the day and photos are likely to be shared on Monday 30th April.
Competition – we would like you to share your photos, stories, and experiences from the day as well as leave us a review. For those who choose to take part, one week after the race we will pick a few winners at random, with the winners getting to join the first 100 in next years event!
Make sure you take the time to check out the Powerhouse, our outdoor fitness training facility. Obstacle Course racing is a great way to stay in shape and using the powerhouse gives you the option of training like a warrior every day. We will have some great sign up offers so make sure you catch one of our campaign staff.
We hope you are ready to face the challenge and look forward to seeing you Saturday!
